Exhibition - Archives of Great Expectations. Would you like to learn about living conditions in Rochester at the end of the 19th Century, or the consequences of stealing a dining fork in 1730? This exhibition marks the completion of the cataloguing of Rochester City Council Collection. Using letters, plans, photographs and other documents it explores the history of the former authority. (Project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund). 12th January-28th February 2012. Open Mon, Tues, Thurs - Saturday. Medway Archives and Local Studies Centre, Strood. .
Road Directions
MALSC is on the first floor of the Clocktower building, behind the site of the former Civic Centre, Strood, which is adjacent to Rochester Bridge. Access is available from the High Street via Taylor's Lane. Buses stop a few yards away in Strood High Street and Strood railway station is a five-minute walk. Visitors travelling by car should follow signs to the Civic Centre car park which is accessible from Knight Road. Disabled access and facilities are available.
