A new novel set in Medway will be launched at the Visitor Information Centre in Rochester on Saturday, 20 February.Walderslade based author Giselle Green’s latest book, A Sister’s Gift, is set in a fictional cottage along Rochester’s Esplanade. There are also references to Rochester Castle Gardens, the Cathedral, the River Medway and the Historic Dockyard, Chatham.
The novel tells the story of Hollie and Richard, a couple who are fast losing hope of ever having a child. Unable to give up her dream, Hollie calls on her last resort, her wayward younger sister Scarlett, who is capable of giving Hollie the miracle she craves. Returning from voluntary work overseas, Scarlett has trouble adjusting to life back home as her past comes back to haunt her. Meanwhile an increasingly desperate Hollie is faced with the decision of a lifetime.
Readers will have the opportunity to meet the author and purchase a signed copy of the book at the Visitor Information Centre’s Cathedral Room in Rochester High Street between 2 and 4pm. Places are limited and must be reserved in advance by emailing Giselle@gisellegreen.com
